Great to meet you!
Let’s continue the conversation about recruiting globally, supporting international students and building strong partnerships in smaller cities with global ambitions.

Explore how Kalundborg has developed a higher education ecosystem built around collaboration between education and industry.

Built on collaboration
At Campus Kalundborg, education is developed through close collaboration between universities, educational institutions, industry, and the public sector.
Together, we offer study programmes that combine academic excellence with real-world experience, giving students direct access to Scandinavia’s strongest biosolutions and biomanufacturing ecosystem.
New Robotics Engineering programme coming to Kalundborg
Starting in September 2027, University College Absalon will offer a new Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics Engineering at Campus Kalundborg.
The programme has been developed to meet the growing demand for specialists in robotics, automation, and digitalisation, giving students hands-on experience through close collaboration with leading industrial companies.
Campus Kalundborg is growing
Campus Kalundborg is home to nearly 1,000 students across vocational, bachelor’s and master’s programmes, with an ambition to grow to 1,500 students by 2030.
In 2028, a new 11,697 m² campus building will open, offering state-of-the-art laboratories, pilot-scale facilities, and collaborative learning spaces.
The new campus building will bring six educational institutions together under one roof, offering students, educators and industry professionals the opportunity to learn, teach and innovate across academic discliplines.
Questions we are still exploring
We are keen to exchange experiences with peers working on:
How can institutions outside major cities attract students from around the world and turn their location into a distinctive part of the study experience?
What helps international students build a sense of belonging, navigate everyday life and remain engaged throughout their studies in a smaller local community?
How can close partnerships with local industry strengthen teaching, create real-world learning opportunities and make a smaller study destination more attractive internationally?
How can institutions align priorities and combine expertise to develop programmes that no single institution could create or sustain alone?
How can a shared campus create one vibrant learning community across institutions, disciplines, nationalities and different levels of education?
How can we help prospective international students understand Denmark’s learning culture and working life, so they can make an informed choice and thrive after arrival?
